London Management Group Limited (‘LMG’) and your data

LMG takes privacy of your personal data seriously. Our investment management and advisory services are aimed mainly at high net worth individuals. Accordingly we will hold and process personal data in relation to your investments. We will not share your personal data with anyone except those you have appointed to act for you such as banks and custodians and potentially with regulators or auditors who are charged with overseeing our activities Under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), LMG will be a data controller in that we hold personal data to facilitate managing and advising on your investments as well as to meet regulatory requirements. We do not process personal data for any other purpose.

Where did we get your data from?

We will obtain personal data from our clients directly or in some cases from banks or custodians appointed by our clients.

What information do we need and why?

We need to collect proof of identity and proofs of address of our clients in order to fulfil our regulatory responsibility to identify our client. We often will need to obtain e-mail addresses and phone numbers of those individuals we will be dealing with when providing our services so as to facilitate effective communication. Where we are providing investment advice we will obtain personal data in order to be able to assess the suitability of different investments based on their investment objectives and experience or understanding of those products. We will hold details of our client’s investments to enable us to effectively manage their portfolios or to advise them on how to deal with those investments.

How will LMG use personal data?

The personal data we collect for identification purposes will remain on file and may be provided to our compliance consultants and/or our regulator to evidence the fact that we are meeting our regulatory obligations.

The personal data we collect for communication purposes will be used to contact you where you have requested advice or to provide alerts and updates which we consider might be of interest to our clients as a whole.

The personal data we hold on your investment experience and objectives is used to assess the suitability of different investments.

The personal data we hold on your investments will be used to inform our investment decisions/advice and to reconcile our records to those of the client’s bank/custodian. Where a transaction we enter into for a client is to be settled by their bank/custodian we provide the personal data about the trade entered into to facilitate settlement of the trade.

Who do LMG share your data with?

We may share your personal data with the banks or custodians appointed by the client to facilitate settlement and accurate reporting.

We may also share your personal data with our compliance consultants and/or regulators as outlined above.

Your personal data will at all times remain within the European Economic Area.

What are your rights?

As we only hold personal data as a data controller you have no rights over that data.

How long do we keep the information for?

Our regulator requires us to keep personal data for six years after the end of any client relationship we have.

How to complain

If you’re not happy with how we process your data, you will have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner and we can provide details about how to do that.
